The Attorney General of the Federation and the Minister of Justice met behind closed doors on Tuesday with the Body of Senior Advocates of Nigeria to discuss the siege of Justice Mary Odili's residence last week Friday.
Shortly after the meeting, Adegboyega Awomolo, speaking on behalf of the SANs at the Federal Ministry of Justice in Abuja, said they were concerned about the occurrence and demanded that the government find those responsible for what he called a national humiliation.
However, the AGF, through his Special Assistant, Umar Gwandu, denied any misconduct, claiming that he was not involved in the incident.
.
According to him, the appropriate agencies have been informed in order to conduct a full investigation.
According to reports, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) executed a search order at Justice Odili's residence last Friday as part of investigations into her husband, former Governor of Rivers State Peter Odili.
The Commission, on the other hand, had denied carrying out any such operation.
“None of our operatives were present,” claimed EFCC Chairman Abdulrasheed Bawa.
“It has nothing to do with the EFCC. I contacted all of the country's security and law enforcement authorities, and they all denied that anyone had been sent to the house to search or arrest anyone.
