Buhari Arrives At The United Nations General Assembly In New York

According to Channels Television, President Muhammadu Buhari has arrived in the United States of America.

The President arrived at John F Kennedy International Airport in New York at 5:10 p.m. local time on September 21, 2021, before of the United Nations Assembly's high-level General Debate.

Professor Tijani Bande, Nigeria's Permanent Representative to the United States, and Geoffrey Onyeama, Nigeria's Foreign Affairs Minister, greeted him.

On Friday, September 24, President Buhari will address the legislature during the general discussions.

The President is slated to talk about this year's theme, "Building Resilience Through Hope: Recovering from COVID-19, Rebuilding Sustainably, Responding to the Needs of the Planet, Respecting People's Rights, and Rejuvenating the United Nations," as well as other global challenges.

Buhari and members of his delegation will also attend other important meetings, such as the high-level meeting to mark the twentieth anniversary of the adoption of the Durban Declaration and Programme of Action, which will be held on the theme of "Reparations, Racial Justice, and Equality for People of African Descent."
