Philip Peter Dasun, a member of the Plateau State House of Assembly, has resigned as the Deputy Majority Leader.

Dasun represents the state's Pankshin North region.

On Tuesday, the Chairman of the House Committee on Information announced his resignation in front of the whole House.

He stated that his departure was personal and had nothing to do with Speaker Ayuba Nuhu Abok's recent impeachment.

Eight of the 24 members of the assembly impeached Ayuba on October 27.

The unique setting was presided over by Deputy Speaker Saleh Yipmong, who elected Yakubu Sanda (APC-Pengana) as the next Speaker.
The Senate, on the other hand, has urged the Plateau House of Assembly to conduct all legislative work in accordance with the Rule of Law and the Constitution.
