DELAYS AND DISRUPTIONS
Flights to and from Morocco have been canceled till 31 December.
As part of their attempts to stem the spread of COVID-19 and its variations, Moroccan authorities have prolonged the country's health state of emergency (SoE) until December 31. The SoE empowers the government to take proactive measures such as curfews and travel restrictions. As of early December, there are no curfews or limitations on interstate or intercity travel.
Restrictions on International Travel Due to worries about the newly identified Omicron strain of the virus, all direct flights to Morocco have been halted. The legislation went into effect at 23:59 on November 29 for a two-week period. The action comes two days after the Moroccan government suspended all flights from South Africa, Botswana, Namibia, Lesotho, Eswatini, Mozambique, and Zimbabwe, as well as preventing people from those countries from entering Morocco by other methods.
Maritime transport between Spain and France has been halted.
Domestic Regulations
Several domestic limitations are still in effect around the country. Most public and private facilities, including hotels, restaurants, cafés, gyms, public baths, grocery shops, and public transportation, need proof of vaccination (i.e., a vaccine pass). The capacity of public baths, public swimming pools, and sports facilities is limited to 50%. The number of individuals who can attend a public or private meeting is restricted to 50. In public places, wearing a facemask is required. A fee may be imposed if COVID-19-related domestic limitations are not followed.
Depending on disease activity in the next weeks, authorities may reimpose, prolong, further relax, or otherwise change any limitations with little to no warning.
Advice
All official orders must be followed. Follow all national health and safety regulations. All business engagements and travel plans should be reconfirmed. If you have symptoms related with COVID-19, you should postpone your trip since they may result in additional scrutiny and delays. In order to receive more information and assistance, communicate with trustworthy individuals. Make sure your contingency plans accommodate for any further disruptive actions or limits. Re-evaluate and confirm non-emergency medical appointments.
