Everton progressed to the quarter-finals of the FA Cup after beating Tottenham 5-4 in a thrilling encounter that went to extra time at Goodison Park.
Super Eagles star Alex Iwobi featured in the game and gave a good account of himself as he was involved in the build up to Everton’s fourth goal scored by Richarlison.
Having led 1-0 through Davinson Sanchez’s opener Spurs then went 3-1 down following goals from Dominic Calvert-Lewin, Richarlison and Gylfi Sigurdsson.
However, Spurs recovered to make it 3-3 thanks to Erik Lamela and Sanchez who got their second and third goals.
Richarlison put Everton back in the lead at 4-3 but Harry Kane’s header forced the match into extra time.
And in the first half of extra time, Bernard then settled the tie with a fine strike off a superb assist from Sigurdsson.
At the King Power stadium, Kelechi Iheanacho was the hero as his stoppage time goal sealed a 1-0 win for Leicester against Brighton and Hove Albion.
Also in action for the Foxes was Wilfred Ndidi who returned from injury.
