Madonna University sanctions 2 students over drug abuse,exam malpractices

ENUGU – The management of Madonna University Enugu has described as misleading and mischievous, position canvassed by two of its students in a section of the media,over the expulsion, slammed on the recalcitrant students.

Victims,Stanley Okoye and Ga-lim Aondofa Lord were said to have been found culpable of exam malpratices,drug abuse and distribution even as they were alleged to be members of Aiye Confraternity.

In a statement signed and made available to newsmen in Enugu,the Chaplin,Madonna University,Enugu,Rev. Fr. Isaac Nginga regretted that the management would not have resorted to joining issues with the students but for the wild allegation leveled against the institution in the media.

According to Nginga,”the security department of the institution received a report of fighting among students contrary to section 1.14 of the student’s handbook. On their arrival at the scene,the security operatives apprehended several students who confessed during investigations that they were members of secret cult and unanimously pointed out that Stanley Okoye and Ga-Lim Aondofa Lord were leaders of the secret cult.

“The two students were then invited for questioning and when they could not satisfactorily answer the questions posed to them,the Chief Security Officer decided to refer them to the Disciplinary Committee as is required by the Institution’s Rules. The students resorted to threats on the CSO.

“At several times in the past,they had been found culpable of vices such examination malpractices,drug abuse and distribution including academic failure which led to rustication, suspension and loss of an academic year
