
CP Sunday Babaji, the Commissioner of Police for the Federal Capital Territory Police Command, has ordered a probe into the alleged extortion of a writer, Solomon Buchi, by police officers in Abuja.
'FCT Police Command Commences Investigation on Solomon Buchi's Viral Instagram Extortion Post,' according to a statement.
On behalf of the Commissioner, DSP Josephine Adeh, the Police Public Relations Officer, signed the statement on Wednesday evening.
Babaji, according to the statement, ordered the immediate arrest of cops engaged in the alleged extortion and promised that the investigation's results will be made public.
"The attention of the FCT Police Command has been attracted to the viral post of an alleged incidence of extortion by certain Police Officers in Abuja," the statement stated in part.
"As a result of the above, the Commissioner of Police for the Federal Capital Territory, CP Sunday Babaji psc, has ordered an urgent investigation and the arrest of those engaged in the alleged unprofessional conduct."
"As a result, investigations have begun, and the results will be made public once they are completed."
